How Long Will Trent Alexander-Arnold Be Out For – Liverpool Injury News

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold missed the Reds’ 4-0 Carabao Cup win against Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool were 1-0 down on aggregate but overcame an injury-hit Spurs side to reach the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle and give Arne Slot his first shot at silverware at Anfield. They’ll be looking to defend their title.

However, before the game, it was revealed that Trent Alexander-Arnold wasn’t able to play due to a hamstring injury that he suffered in training.

It is not expected to be a major injury, but it does mean that the full-back could miss several games, and will have to be replaced by Conor Bradley, who stepped in during the Tottenham game.

Slot said before the Carabao Cup match: “Trent? It’s too early for him. [It’s] difficult to say for Everton, it won’t take months or even weeks, but it is only three days after Plymouth, so let’s wait and see. We look long term; we take no risks, but if he is fit, then we will use him.”

The Reds face an FA Cup game against Championship side Plymouth this weekend which he will likely miss. They then play against rivals Everton in the Merseyside Derby which was postponed earlier in the season.

It is not yet clear as to whether Trent will be available for the Everton game, but if it does come too soon for the England international, then his return will most likely come against Wolves on Sunday 16 February. He will hope to return before the week after the Wolves game, when Liverpool play against rivals Manchester City.

Do Liverpool have any other injuries ?

The Reds have just one more player who is currently dealing with an injury, and it is defender Joe Gomez, who could make a return against Plymouth this weekend.

Gomez is dealing with a hamstring injury too, but he is back in training, and will almost certainly be ready for the Merseyside derby.

Slot said before the Spurs game on Gomez:  “Training today. We have 20 players available. We have to make the smartest decision for them and to win the game tomorrow.”
