Liverpool “Irritated” By Agent’s Actions As Player Is Offered To Five Premier League Clubs

Liverpool became “irritated” with the agent of Brighton‘s Leandro Trossard after interest in the player was leaked to the media, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The CBS Sports reporter claims that the Belgian international has been offered to five different Premier League teams, including the Reds, Manchester United, Newcastle, Chelsea and Tottenham, but he will not be making the switch to Anfield:

“The first thing to say with Trossard is that he wants a move away. He has no specific preference. His agent has been working extremely hard to fuel interest. He went to Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United. Liverpool and Manchester United dismissed it and as I understand it they got irritated by how much was being leaked about interest in his client.”

Manager Jurgen Klopp is now fully stocked for forwards after the arrival of Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven earlier this month, so Trossard is not someone that the Merseyside club desperately need to sign.

The 28-year-old has been in impressive form, having bagged a hat-trick against Liverpool back in October, but he has gone off the boil since the World Cup.

Trossard was an unused substitute in Brighton’s last Premier League game against Everton and he missed the 5-1 win over Middlesbrough in the FA Cup at the weekend due to a calf injury.
