Liverpool have been in contact with the agents of Athletico Paranaense forward Vitor Roque, according to reports in the Brazilian media.

The teenager is expected to move to Europe during the summer transfer window, and his father, Juvenal Ferreira, along with businessmen Andre Cury and Ehler Pessoa, have been in England to hold talks with interested clubs.

Roque turned 18 a couple of months ago and that means he is now eligible to leave Brazil, with the Premier League seemingly his likeliest destination.

It is believed that, in addition to Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, West Ham and Aston Villa have also had meetings with the representatives of the Brazilian Under 20 international over the past week.

However, Barcelona could also make a bid for Roque. Athletico Paranaense have slapped a €42m (£36.7m) price tag on the player so it remains to be seen whether Liverpool, Barca or another club will stump up the cash.
