Liverpool Join Battle To Snap Up 60M Rated French World Cup Winner

Liverpool are the latest team to take a keen interest in Raphael Varane’s situation at Real Madrid, according to reports in the Spanish media.

The French World Cup winner will have one year remaining on his contract at the Bernabeu in the summer and the player has shown no signs that he is willing to sign an extension.

With Real keen to raise funds to finance their own transfer business, it is believed that the La Liga champions are open to selling Varane in the summer for a fee of around €70m (£60m).

Chelsea and Manchester United have also been mentioned as possible suitors in recent weeks and it’s likely these rumours are being fed to the press by the defender‘s agents to force Real into offering an improved contract.

If Varane does become available, though, he would certainly be a very attractive option, considering he has a great deal of experience despite the fact that he is still only 27 years of age.
