Liverpool have entered the race for Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla, according to TuttoNapoli.net. The Italian website reports that the Reds, along with Borussia Dortmund, have joined Manchester United and Manchester City in keeping tabs on the Albanian international.

The centre-back has been part of a team which has the fourth-best defensive record in Serie A this season, helping his club to sixth in the table after 23 games played.

Kumbulla is reportedly valued at €30m (£25m) by Verona following his displays for the Italian side, and with a host of suitors, they will likely find a team who will meet their demands.

It’s likely that Liverpool’s interest depends on whether Dejan Lovren is sold at the end of the season. The Croatian was linked with a move to AC Milan in August but remained at Anfield.

The centre-half has played 13 games this campaign, but the emergence of Joe Gomez as Jurgen Klopp’s preferred centre-back partner for Virgil van Dijk could lead to Lovren opting to leave in the summer.
