Liverpool have entered the race to sign RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The Frenchman has been in scintillating form this campaign, having bagged 17 goals and provided 12 assists in only 27 appearances for his club.
Nkunku has been linked with Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal in recent months, but manager Jurgen Klopp is also said to be considering a move for the 24-year-old to strengthen his frontline.
Leipzig won’t be letting the player leave without a fight, though, and it is believed that they will hold out for a fee in the region of €50m (£42m).
Taking into consideration Nkunku’s age and current performance levels, though, that could turn out to be a bargain, but the Reds are also looking at other potential targets.
Rennes winger Jeremy Doku, Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma and Porto’s Luis Diaz are the three alternatives being scouted, so we shall have to wait and see which player Liverpool will go after.
