Liverpool Join Premier League Elite In Enquiring About £60m Playmaker

Liverpool have enquired about Leicester midfielder James Maddison, according to reports in England.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham are also said to be in the running for the player, but his club are said to be reluctant to let him leave.

Maddison only joined Leicester from Norwich for £20m last summer and has four years left remaining on a five-year deal at the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes are not keen to sell up so they have slapped a hefty £60m asking price on the 22-year-old to ward off potential suitors.

Liverpool are not believed to be looking to do a great deal of business in this summer’s transfer market but they may look to add to the squad if a good player becomes available.

Maddison’s ability to play in the number 10 role could be of interest to the Reds as they have still not replaced Philippe Coutinho following his move to Barcelona 18 months ago.
