Liverpool lead “Half Of Europe” In Race To Secure Deal For 20 Year Old With £88m Release Clause

Liverpool have already held talks with Valencia about signing Ferran Torres, according to Sport1. The German TV station reports that the Reds are leading the race for the 20-year-old, who has a €100m (£88m) release clause.

The Merseysiders are, however, not the only team keen on the Spaniard with Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich Juventus and Atletico Madrid having also shown interest in the player recently.

Sport1 claim that “half of Europe” are after Torres. The winger’s contract is set to expire at the end of next season and Valencia are likely to sell for well below his buyout clause.

Other reports suggest that Manchester City, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen are also involved in the battle to secure the player’s signature.

Torres can play on either wing, although he has played mostly on the right-hand side for Valencia this campaign. He has made 35 appearances for the La Liga club, scoring six goals and contributing seven assists. You can find out more about him here.
