Liverpool are still keen on signing Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Reds were first linked with the Brazilian in January, with reports resurfacing in March that the Merseyside club had had a €20m bid rejected for the defender. Since then, though, they have signed Ibrahima Konate, whilst the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have returned to fitness.

Even so, it is said that Bremer is being monitored by Liverpool’s recruitment department. The 24-year-old has less than two years remaining on his contract and he could be available for around €25m (£21m).

Manchester United have also taken note of the centre-half’s situation but, currently, Jurgen Klopp’s side are seen as the favourites for the player’s signature.

Considering the Reds have five senior centre-backs, it would be a big surprise if a formal approach was made for Bremer. It’s more likely that the Brazilian’s agent is trying to get more money for his client by linking him to English clubs.
