Liverpool Linked With Controversial Swoop For Four Time Champions League Winner

Liverpool have “expressed an interest” in signing Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos, along with the rest of the Premier League’s ‘big six’, according to 90min.com.

The Spaniard, who has won the Champions League four times with Real, is out of contract at the end of the season and is currently considering all of his options.

Ramos is infamous among Reds supporters after a challenge involving Mo Salah in the 2018 Champions League final, which saw the Egyptian having to leave the pitch early due to an injured shoulder.

Liverpool are believed to be on the lookout for another centre-half, following the injuries to Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk, but the feeling is that the Premier League champions would prefer to pursue younger targets.

At 34 years of age, Ramos is certainly not one for the future. A move to Manchester City, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham may appeal to the Spanish international but you would have to think a switch to Anfield is a very remote possibility indeed.
