Liverpool Named Among ‘Several English Clubs’ Targeting French Ace Who Has 34M Price Tag

Liverpool are one of “several English clubs” keeping tabs on Rennes forward Martin Terrier, according to L’Equipe.

The French publication reports that, while the 25-year-old is a “recruitment priority” for the likes of Leeds and West Ham, he has also been considered by Jurgen Klopp’s side as they look at potential replacements for Roberto Firmino.

Terrier was excellent for Rennes last campaign, racking up 21 goals and four assists in 37 Ligue One appearances. He is equally comfortable playing out wide or through the middle, which is ideal for Liverpool’s frontline.

Rennes are expected to hold out for around €40m (£34m), as they look to cash in on a player who had his best ever goalscoring season, so Reds sporting director Julian Ward may be hesitant about doing a deal this summer when his value is at its highest.

A move for Terrier could come back under consideration in the future though, with Firmino expected to run down his contract and leave Anfield on a free next year.
