Liverpool Named As One Of Three Clubs Who Have Had Bid ‘Accepted’ For Scottish Defender

Liverpool have had a bid accepted for Motherwell defender Sam Campbell, according to Press Association journalist Nick Mashiter:

Leeds United and Brighton & Hove Albion have also matched the Reds’ offer and it will now be up to the teenager to decide which team he joins.

Campbell has also been offered a new deal by Motherwell, and he could yet stay with the Scottish Premiership outfit if he thinks he has a better chance of making his first-team breakthrough there.

However, Liverpool will be able to offer better personal terms as well as the chance of being coached by some of the best youth academy coaches in the game at Kirkby.

Campbell has yet to make his senior debut but he has impressed at youth level, having played for Motherwell’s Under 18s when he was only 14. The Scottish defender would most likely go straight into Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s Under 18 squad if he decides to move to Merseyside.
