Liverpool Named The ‘Big English Player’ As They Try To Beat Rivals To 8.6M Rated Brazilian Wonderkid

Liverpool are trying to head off competition from AC Milan for Santos forward Kaio Jorge, according to Stop&Goal.com.

The website claim that the Reds have emerged as the “big English player” who are expected to make a move for the Brazilian Under 20 international.

Chelsea and Arsenal have also been linked with Jorge in recent months but Liverpool’s biggest rivals are believed to be Italian clubs, with Juventus and Napoli said to be interested, along with Milan.

Stop&Goal report that despite the 19-year-old being in high demand, he could be available for as little as €10m (£8.6m) with his contract set to expire at the end of the Brazilian season in December.

Jorge already has 75 senior appearances under his belt, but he hasn’t yet become a prolific goalscorer, having bagged 15 goals for Santos over the past four seasons. He can, though, play right across the front three, and that flexibility will make him an attractive target for Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp.
