Chelsea attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku is “expected” to be in the matchday squad to face Liverpool on Wednesday night, according to the Evening Standard.
The France international has not played since the 3-2 win over Luton Town last month but it looks like he will play some part in the game at Anfield.
While some fans on X have compared Nkunku to N’Golo Kante (due to the fact he is an injury-prone player who always seems to be fit to play the Reds), others are not concerned about his availability:
A boost for Chelsea but we ain't scared. This is anfield

Of course he is. He’s their new Kante. Always fit for us but always on the hospital bed for everyone else

Nkunku will only be on the bench
The 26-year-old has been on the sidelines for a month with a hip injury so there is little to no chance that he will be ready to start against Liverpool.
However, Nkunku could still make an impact as a substitute so Reds supporters will be hoping that the home side are already well out of sight before he is introduced.
Liverpool will also have players returning from injury
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai all came off the bench in the second half for the 5-2 win over Norwich City in the FA Cup at the weekend.
While it is unlikely that all three will be selected to start against Chelsea, manager Jurgen Klopp will be glad to have the trio available again for such a key fixture.
