Liverpool fans have taken to social media to react to the news that Mo Salah has signed a new contract with the club lasting until 2027.
There was vast uncertainty surrounding Salah’s future at Anfield with his current deal due to expire in June. However, the Egyptian winger agreed a new deal on Friday morning despite being previously linked with moves to the Saudi Pro League.
It comes as Salah is having probably his best season in a Liverpool shirt, scoring 32 goals and providing 22 assists in Arne Slot’s first season with the club. He is now set to remain at Anfield until 2027 after signing his new deal.
Liverpool announced an official statement on their website, which included Salah’s reaction to the new contract. He said: “It’s great, I had my best years here. I played for eight years, hopefully, it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.
“I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies.”
