“You Have To Say” – Gary Neville Issues New Liverpool Title Verdict As He Rows Back On Past Arsenal Remarks

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville says Liverpool “should” win the title based on their recent form.

The Merseysiders are currently sitting six points clear of their nearest rivals with a game in hand and Neville admits it is hard to see them losing their grip on 1st place:

“Liverpool are in an incredible position in the form table and you have to say they’re massive favourites and they should go on to win it…”

“They’re doing really well and they look like they’ve got all the sort of weapons and tools that you need to win a league.”

Neville has continuously warned the Reds about the threat posed by Arsenal, but he now seems to believe that no one will catch Arne Slot’s side at the top of the table.

There is no room for complacency

Fans won’t be counting their chickens just yet. Liverpool have been top of the table at this stage of the season and failed to finish 1st on too many occasions in recent years.

Maintaining the lead they currently have over the Gunners is critical to ensure that they don’t come under pressure from their rivals at the end of the campaign.

Liverpool’s next Premier League fixture could be pivotal

Due to domestic cup commitments, the Reds’ next league match is the Merseyside derby on Wednesday week. If they manage to win their game in hand over Arsenal, it would stretch their lead to nine points.

While no one would class it as a surmountable gap to bridge at this stage with 14 games to go, it would be a statement win.

Getting the three points won’t be easy, considering Everton have been revitalised since the return of David Moyes but, as Neville points out, Slot’s team are in great form heading into the fixture.
