Louis Saha Explains How Liverpool Became “Way Stronger” Than City And Arsenal Under Arne Slot

Ex-Everton and Manchester United striker Louis Saha has praised Liverpool for the position they have found themselves in the Premier League table.

Speaking to Paddy Power, Saha said that the appointment of Arne Slot and the depth of the squad had helped the Reds eclipse their rivals:

“I still think that there is some pressure to put on Liverpool, but they are way stronger than Manchester City and Arsenal and are in a terrific position. You need players who can get you out of tricky situations during bad performances and whether it’s Darwin Nunez or Mo Salah who combine well and when Diogo Jota is not injured, he can also score those important goals.”

“They have a squad who can go all the way without suffering too much. They have really good players in midfield, but they are able to rotate without massive disruption. Even if you think Alexis MacAllister is a really important player in midfield but they can move players around and still find good rhythm. They always maintain possession and aggression in midfield and defensively they have no problems because this back four has barely changed. With Arne Slot, Liverpool have found a really good balance to go through the whole season.”

Liverpool’s title credentials face a big test this weekend

Slot’s side will travel to play in-form Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon. The Cherries have picked up some excellent results this season, especially at home where they have already beaten both Arsenal and City.

However, having rested nearly all of their key players for the final Champions League group fixture against PSV Eindhoven midweek, the Reds should be well prepared for the fixture.

Arsenal also have a massive match

With the Gunners taking on Manchester City at the Emirates, it could well be a defining week in the title race. If Liverpool do drop points, it will give the Gunners a huge incentive to win heading into their match against the reigning champions.

In contrast, if Slot’s team secure a win and Arsenal lose, the Merseysiders could go nine points clear of their closest challengers with a game in hand.
