“Another Level” – Jorginho Names Liverpool Star As The Best Player He Has Faced In The Premier League

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has declared that Liverpool forward Mo Salah is the best player he has played against in the Premier League.

Speaking in an interview with The Athletic Football podcast, Jorginho also praised Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne but he says Salah (in his prime) is the No.1 for him:

“Kevin De Bruyne is ridiculous. But I think Mohamed Salah, he was another level. I think, yeah, I put Salah first. He was so strong, so powerful, so fast. His mentality… and however he would shoot, it would go in.”

Salah and Jorginho have had pretty similar journeys. They both moved from Italy to England at roughly the same time (the former made the switch to Anfield from Roma in 2017, while the latter joined Chelsea from Napoli in 2018).

Jorginho is also exactly the same age (31), although it must be pointed out that Salah has secured more silverware, having won the likes of the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup (three trophies that the Arsenal star has failed to win so far).

Salah will be hoping to make more memories this season

The Reds legend is closing in on yet another milestone. He is just one goal shy of 200 for the Merseyside club, and that could come against Sheffield United on Wednesday night.

Ironically, despite Jurgen Klopp’s side hitting the back of the net 4 times at the weekend, Salah was not among the scorers.

Will Salah leave Liverpool next summer?

After Al-Ittihad made a £100m+ bid for the winger back in September, there has been increasing speculation that he will make a move to Saudi Arabia in the not-too-distant future.

Salah will have a year left on his contract at Anfield next summer and the Reds will have to make a decision on whether to keep him.
