Liverpool Duo Join Chelsea and Newcastle Stars Among Nominees For Premier League Player Of The Month

Liverpool pair Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been nominated for December’s Premier League Player of the Month.

Both players were in outstanding form as the Reds won four and drew two of their six fixtures last month, including victories over Manchester City and Tottenham.

Salah and Alexander-Arnold are nominees alongside Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, Newcastle pair Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak, Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen and Fulham’s Antonee Robinson.

While Alexander-Arnold had a good month, scoring against West Ham and providing 3 assists, Salah will be the red-hot favourite to take home the prize

The Egyptian international was in phenomenal form last month, racking up 8 goals and 7 assists across the course of December.

Slot has been nominated for manager of the month

After Liverpool went unbeaten in December, it is not a surprise that Arne Slot is a candidate for the manager prize once again

The Dutchman is one of four coaches in the running, along with Newcastle’s Eddie Howe, Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola and Nottingham Forest’s Nuno Espirito Santo.

Liverpool fans can vote for Salah/Alexander-Arnold and Slot

Reds supporters can have their say by visiting the Premier League’s website and nominating their favourite player and manager.

To choose your player click here, while you can choose the manager here. It is important to note that voting ends on Monday 6th January at 12 PM GMT with the announcement for each award taking place on Friday 10th January at 11 PM GMT.

You would think that Salah is almost guaranteed to get his award, having averaged a goal or assist every 47.5 minutes, but Slot will face some stiff competition. It will be the 46-year-old’s second award in a row if he does win, having also collected the one for November.
