Zinchenko Names “Explosive” Liverpool Star As The Toughest Opponent He Has Faced In The Premier League

Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko has labelled Liverpool winger Mo Salah as the ‘toughest opponent’ he has come up against in the Premier League.

The Ukrainian international has faced the Reds star when playing for both Manchester City and the Gunners. Speaking to the Premier League’s official YouTube channel, he explained why Salah is so difficult to defend:

“I would say Mo Salah, pace, power, an explosive player, he is so dangerous.”

Salah has received his fair share of praise from opposing players during his time at Anfield, and this latest compliment from Zinchenko is just another example that demonstrates his standing among fellow professionals.

While the Egyptian international is by no means underrated by those outside of Merseyside, he doesn’t necessarily get the plaudits he deserves for his consistency over the last six years.

Salah has been in red-hot form

Although the Liverpool star didn’t get on the scoresheet against Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup midweek, he already has 10 goals and 4 assists in 14 appearances this season.

In terms of the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, Salah is currently joint second in the scoring charts, trailing Manchester City’s Erling Haaland by 3 goals.

Liverpool will feel justified in rejecting a nine figure offer from Saudi Arabia

It was reported in September that the Reds turned down a bid from Al-Ittihad for Salah, which was said to be worth in excess of £100m.

Some questioned whether that was a good decision, considering that the player is now 31 years of age and will have 12 months left on his contract at the end of the season.

However, Salah remains at the top of his game, and it would have been a premature end to his time at Anfield. Based on his recent performances, he could still play on for many more years at the highest level.
