Ex-Liverpool striker Peter Crouch is expecting his former club to bounce back with a victory against rivals Manchester United this weekend.
Arne Slot’s side have lost three in a row but Crouch believes that the Reds will be facing an opponent who have their own problems:
“Alright, listen, Manchester United are struggling, I would say. They played better against Sunderland, but I’m going to go for a 3-1 Liverpool win.”
Liverpool fans will be very happy if their team secures a comfortable victory, as Crouch predicts on Sunday.
Home advantage could prove to be important
It should be pointed out that the Reds remain unbeaten at Anfield this season, having won against Bournemouth, Arsenal and Everton in the league, whilst having secured victories over Atletico Madrid and Southampton in cup competitions as well.
The home crowd should offer Slot and his team a solid foundation to build from, after some poor away performances in recent weeks.
Liverpool vs Manchester United team news
Ibrahima Konate remains a doubt heading into Sunday’s game. The defender picked up a muscular problem during the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea and did not play for France during the international break.
Ryan Gravenberch also tweaked his hamstring during the Netherlands’ 4-0 win over Finland on Sunday, so his fitness will need to be assessed. His understudy, Wataru Endo, is on the treatment table too with an unspecified injury.
Alisson Becker (groin) won’t play until November, while Giovanni Leoni will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his ACL.
United, meanwhile, could welcome back Noussair Mazroaui. The Moroccan fullback has not played since mid-September due to a muscular injury. Lisandro Martinez (ACL) is close to returning to full training but he may need several weeks to recover match fitness.
