Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch had another excellent game as the Reds won 3-0 against Manchester United at the weekend.
The Dutchman’s energy in the middle of the park has really caught the eye since the start of the campaign.
Assessing Gravenberch’s recent performances, some supporters on X claim that he looks like a completely different player from the one who arrived at Anfield last year:
A revelation.

Gravenberch has found his role
While the Netherlands international showed flashes of inspiration during his first 12 months at Liverpool, he couldn’t nail down a place in the starting eleven.
Not only was Gravenberch not consistent enough, there was also plenty of competition for places in the two No.8 positions. However, manager Arne Slot has decided to play him in a deeper role and it has paid dividends.
Being deployed as a No.6 seems to suit the midfielder’s game perfectly, as he has the energy to cover a lot of ground off the ball, whilst taking the ball on the half-turn in possession.
Liverpool’s midfield showed what it is capable of at Old Trafford
Gravenberch was not the only one who performed well on Sunday, and Slot was very keen to highlight the work rate of all three central midfielders.
Dominik Szoboszlai was outstanding alongside Mac Allister and, with Gravenberch, they closed down any threats from United in the middle of the pitch.
