Liverpool pair Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk have been included in WhoScored.com‘s Team of the Week.

Szoboszlai got two assists for Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah’s goals in the 3-0 over Nottingham Forest at the weekend, with WhoScored giving the Hungarian international a rating of 8.78.

Reds captain van Dijk, meanwhile, got a score of 8.03, having made four clearances and one key pass, as well as helping to keep a clean sheet for his team.

Szoboszlai and van Dijk have both been key components for manager Jurgen Klopp, as his team sits fourth in the Premier League table after 10 games played, just 3 points off first place.

Plenty raised their eyebrows when the Merseyside club opted to pay the RB Leipzig midfielder’s release clause at the end of June, but the player has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.

Szoboszlai has the physicality, energy and technical ability to thrive in the English top flight and his performances are now being recognised by pundits and supporters alike, having helped to transform the club’s midfield this campaign.

In addition to the two Liverpool stars, WhoScored selected Manchester City’s Ederson (7.36) in goal, with van Dijk being joined in a back four by Brentford’s Ethan Pinnock (8.49), City right-back Kyle Walker (7.98) and Everton defender Vitalii Mykolenko (7.85).

Bernardo Silva (8.31), who was the standout performer in City’s 3-0 win over Manchester United, is joined by Fulham’s Joao Palhinha (9.14) and Szoboszlai in midfield.
