Liverpool On Alert Amid Claims That Bundesliga Giants “Will Definitely Not” Hand 15 Goal German Ace Big Pay Rise

Bayern Munich “will definitely not” agree to Serge Gnabry’s demands for a sizeable wage increase, according to Kicker.

The German magazine claim that the former Arsenal player has been locked in talks over a new contract for the past four months but no breakthrough has been found.

It was reported back in February that both Liverpool and Manchester United were keeping tabs on Gnabry’s situation. The two teams were expecting the 26-year-old to extend his deal with Bayern but this latest development could lead to the pair stepping up their interest in the player.

Gnabry has been in decent form this season, having scored 15 goals and provided 10 assists in 41 appearances. Considering his performances, it is somewhat surprising that Bayern are reluctant to give him what he wants but Kicker do cite the winger’s inconsistency as one of their main concerns.

With the German international said to be demanding around €15m a year (approximately £239,000 a week), it seems the Bundesliga champions are looking for more bang for their buck.
