Liverpool On Alert As Serie A Giants ‘Consider’ January Sale For Midfield Dynamo

AC Milan will “consider” selling Franck Kessie in the January transfer window if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new deal, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The Italian TV network claim that the Ivorian is demanding €9m (£7.7m) a year, with the Rossoneri only willing to offer €6.5m (£5.56m). With his current contract expiring in June, it could force the Serie A side into a cut-price sale before he can leave on a free transfer.

Liverpool have been regularly linked with Kessie in the Italian press over recent months, with Chelsea also being mentioned, but Sky say the four favourites for the 24-year-old’s signature will be Manchester United, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.

Considering the Reds’ midfield situation, manager Jurgen Klopp could probably do with a strong, dynamic player like Kessie, but the fact that he is demanding around £148,000 a week may put them off from going ahead with a deal.
