Liverpool are monitoring Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara’s contract situation at the Bundesliga club, according to Sport Bild.
The German magazine claims the Spanish international was all set to sign a long-term deal before pulling out of talks to reconsider his future.
It is thought that Thiago is keen on moving to another top club in Europe in order to have a new experience before his career comes to an end.
The Spaniard is now 29 years of age and has spent seven years in Germany after moving from Barcelona, but he has just one year left on his contract at the Allianz Arena.
Sport Bild report that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp “thinks highly” of Thiago’s technical ability, and would be open to bringing him to Anfield if he became available.
Bayern are not believed to be listening to offers for the midfielder yet, as they still believe an agreement with the player can be reached, but that may change in the coming weeks.
