Liverpool Plotting To Beat Premier League Rivals In Raid For 43M Rated Italian Ace

Liverpool are lining up an offer for Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi, according to reports in the Italian media.

The 26-year-old has impressed for Italy at the European Championship, and he is believed to be available for around €50m (£43m) this summer.

Last week, it was reported that Arsenal and Manchester United were the two English clubs most interested in Berardi but it seems Jurgen Klopp’s side are now at the front of the queue.

Along with the Reds, Tottenham and Leicester are also said to be preparing bids of their own for the 26-year-old, who scored 17 league goals in just 30 appearances for Sassuolo last campaign.

Berardi is left-footed, and would likely be used as an alternative to Mo Salah on the right-hand side of Liverpool’s attack. With the Egyptian likely to be missing next season for long periods due to the Olympics and African Cup of Nations, it appears sporting director Michael Edwards is looking at potential stand-ins.
