Midfield
CM – Ryan Gravenberch – the midfielder probably had his worst game of the season against Galatasaray but fans will be hoping that’s just a blip.
CM – Curtis Jones – Alexis Mac Allister is not performing to the required level at the moment, so Jones should keep his place.
AM – Dominik Szoboszlai – Dropping Florian Wirtz is a big call but Slot needs solidity in midfield and the Hungarian is much better doing that by pressing from the front rather than playing out of position at right-back.
Forwards
RW – Mo Salah – the Egyptian King is out of sorts. We have seen flashes of his old self this season, such as against Atletico Madrid, but he needs to get more involved on the ball.
ST – Alexander Isak – even before Hugo Ekitike’s injury, the Swedish international was likely to start versus Chelsea anyway.
LW – Cody Gakpo – many fans would like Federico Chiesa to be given a run of games but his fitness remains a massive issue. Gakpo is likely to keep his place for now.
