After two chastening defeats, Liverpool boss Arne Slot might decide to go back to basics for the clash against Chelsea this weekend.
Experimenting with formations and personnel has not helped the Reds in the losses to Crystal Palace and Galatasaray, and Slot would be wise to revert to a tried and tested formula on Saturday.
Read below as we share our Liverpool predicted lineup for the match at Stamford Bridge:
Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Giorgi Mamardashvili – Alisson’s injury means the Georgian international will get his first league start of the season.
RB – Conor Bradley – neither the Northern Ireland international nor Jeremie Frimpong have convinced so far this campaign, but Bradley already has a good understanding with Mo Salah, unlike the Dutchman.
CB – Ibrahima Konate – the centre-back has been terrible, with his recent displays being littered with mistakes. Joe Gomez wasn’t much better when he started against Southampton, though, so Slot may stick with Konate.
CB – Virgil van Dijk – the captain has been one of the very few players who has met expectations with his performances this season.
LB – Andy Robertson – after not starting against either Palace or Galatasaray, it stands to reason that the Scotland international will replace Milos Kerkez for this fixture. He should be fresh.
