Liverpool Prepared To Pay £23m For Target Who ‘Has Already Said Goodbye’ To His Teammates

Liverpool are willing to pay €25m (£23m) for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara, according to Abendzeitung.

The Munich based newspaper also claims that the Spaniard “has already said goodbye” to his teammates ahead of a possible move to Anfield.

However, Thiago’s switch is still far from being finalised. While Bayern are keen on selling the 29-year-old this summer to prevent him from leaving for nothing next year, they are demanding €35m (£32m) for the player.

At the moment, no compromise has been reached but Abendzeitung do think that there is room for negotiation which could see the midfielder seal a move to England.

Jurgen Klopp is apparently very keen on snapping up Thiago, who he believes could add another dimension to Liverpool’s squad, but much may depend on what FSG think about splashing the cash.

The global health crisis has made Liverpool’s owners hesitant about spending large amounts in the transfer market. The club missed out on Timo Werner to Chelsea as a result. Reports suggest Manchester United could also be keen on Thiago so fans will be hoping that there is no repeat this time around.
