Liverpool Preparing For Bayern Munich Legends Clash

Fans can feel relieved now that the transfer window is closed and Liverpool can direct their attention to one of the most anticipated events that will take place at Anfield in 2018. This year, the Liverpool FC Foundation have planned a real treat as LFC Legends will be featured against Bayern Munich legends on the 24th of March.

While there is still a lot of time until the game, it’s good to bring attention to events such as these. It not only brings joy to the unfortunate but it also raises awareness while bringing together some of the biggest names in football history.

Most recent updates come from none other than Xabi Alonso who expressed his excitement to be back to the club that gave him probably the most memorable game of his career (2005 Champions League final against AC Milan in Istanbul).

Here is what Alonso had to say about the upcoming legends match: “Firstly, to be back at Anfield. Secondly, I’m putting my boots back on – I haven’t done it since my last game in May. It’s going to be a great atmosphere. We know how special the fans are and how much they support these games. I’m really looking forward to it.”

“I feel the love and the connection. Since I left we have kept that alive – for me, it’s great to have that feeling. Whenever I go back to Liverpool, or wherever I am in the world, Liverpool supporters come to me and we talk about whichever game. That will stay the same forever.”

Aside from Xabi Alonso, fans will also be able to see Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher among others. Bayern will feature some amazing names as well with players like Lizarazu and Giovane Elber confirming their presence.

All the money raised from this game will be donated to the LFC Foundation as well as to FC Bayern Hilfe e.V. which is Bayern’s charity.
