Liverpool Propose Two-Year Loan Deal With Option To Buy Brazilian Star For £88m

Liverpool have offered a two-year loan deal for Barcelona attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho, according to Calciomercato.it.

The Italian website reports that the Reds have also included a purchase option, which means the Merseyside club could sign the player permanently for £88m.

Barca are said to be not that keen on the proposal and will likely try to use Coutinho as a makeweight in their bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar.

PSG are likely to be the 27-year-old’s only other viable destination, with other potentials suitors like Manchester United and Chelsea no longer in the running.

Coutinho is reportedly unwilling to sign for the Red Devils due to his past association with the Reds, while Chelsea currently have a transfer ban.

The Brazilian playmaker has struggled to establish himself at Camp Nou since his £142m transfer from Anfield eighteen months ago.

Coutinho has recently seen his number seven shirt taken by new signing Antoine Griezmann raising more question marks over his future.
