Liverpool Re Enter Battle For 64M Rated Serie A Star With Mane Trying To ‘Convince’ Player To Sign

Liverpool are back in contention to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Le Parisien. The Senegalese international has agreed personal terms with Manchester City but the Citizens have yet to reach an agreement over a transfer fee for the defender.

Napoli are believed to be demanding at least €70m (£64m) for the 29-year-old, which is said to be above the Manchester club’s valuation of the player.

With that being the case, Liverpool are reportedly trying to muscle into negotiations, having previously been linked with Koulibaly, along with Manchester United, earlier this summer.

Le Parisien claims the Reds dream of pairing the Senegalese defender with Virgil van Dijk in the centre of defence and have employed the services of Sadio Mane to “convince” the player into making the switch to Anfield instead.

Mane is a friend of Koulibaly’s with both players key men for Senegal’s national team, but whether the Liverpool star can persuade him into a move, we shall have to wait and see.
