Liverpool Reverse Their Stance On Selling 10M Rated Midfielder This Summer

Liverpool are expected to keep Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the club for another season, according to reports in the English media.

The former Arsenal player had been tipped to leave Anfield, with just one year remaining on his contract. A £10m asking price was also mentioned amid reports of interest from West Ham and Manchester United.

However, it appears the Reds have reversed their decision, with the Merseyside club having decided against strengthening their options in midfield after missing out on Aurelien Tchouameni to Real Madrid.

The feeling is that Jurgen Klopp’s side are now likely to wait until next year before making their next move. Jude Bellingham is believed to be the main target but Borussia Dortmund are not willing to sanction a move this summer so Liverpool are expected to remain patient before making a bid for the teenager.

It means that Oxlade-Chamberlain will be allowed to run down his contract, whilst ensuring that Klopp isn’t left short of bodies in a key area of the pitch.
