Liverpool Ruled Out From Making Deadline Day Swoop For Argentinian International

Liverpool will not be making a late bid to sign Tottenham goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga before the transfer window shuts, according to reports in the local media.

With Alisson Becker expected to be sidelined for six weeks with a shoulder injury, and following Adrian’s poor performance in the shock 7-2 defeat to Aston Villa yesterday, there have been reports that the Reds are considering a move for the Argentinian international.

However, it is believed the Premier League champions will not be looking to make any signings on deadline day, with the main focus being on offloading unwanted players in order to balance the books.

Gazzaniga has been with Spurs for three years, following his move from Southampton, and he made 18 Premier League appearances last campaign with number one Hugo Lloris sidelined with a dislocated elbow.

However, the 28-year-old has barely kicked a ball since lockdown back in March, and it must be said he would hardly be much of an improvement on Adrian.
