Liverpool Set To Follow Up Goalkeeper Signing With Move For French Teenager

Liverpool and Manchester United are battling it out to sign Sochaux centre-back Willy Kambwala, according to reports in the French media.

The 15-year-old has yet to play a game of senior football but his performances at youth level have impressed scouts from the two Premier League clubs

Kambwala won’t be able to sign a professional deal with either the Reds or United until he turns 16 at the end of August, and he is currently weighing up whether to sign a new youth contract with Sochaux.

Despite not being very active in terms of senior signings so far this summer, Liverpool have been making additions to their youth ranks in recent days.

The Merseyside club have signed FC Wroclaw goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek on a youth scholarship deal. The 16-year-old had a trial at the academy earlier this year, and he will sign onto professional terms when he turns 17 in a couple of months time.
