Liverpool Set To Join Arsenal And United In Race To Sign Player Who Chelsea Sold For Just £18M

Liverpool are the latest Premier League club to take an interest in Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, according to reports in the English media.

The Reds have joined the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham in tracking the England international ahead of the summer transfer window.

Guehi is believed to have a £50m asking price, which may cause some issues. While manager Jurgen Klopp is targeting a new centre-half, most of the club’s resources will be devoted to recruiting midfielders so the Palace star’s valuation may prove to be too high.

The 22-year-old has spent the last two years with the Eagles, having moved from Chelsea for £18m in the summer of 2021. It is believed that the Blues do retain a sell-on clause on the player and that is why his current club are demanding so much money.

Other Defenders Have Been Linked With Liverpool

Reports earlier this month suggested that the Reds are keeping tabs on Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, along with Newcastle and Manchester United. However, he would still cost around €45m (£39m).

A cheaper option would be Eintracht Frankfurt’s Evan Ndicka, who is available on a free transfer, but it is believed that Serie A champions Napoli are the favourites for his signature.
