Liverpool set to land Besiktas star as Jurgen Klopp continues midfield overhaul

Liverpool look set to continue their midfield overhaul by landing Besiktas star Anderson Talisca, according to reports from Portugal.

Jurgen Klopp has already added tow new midfielders to his squad ahead of the new season in the form of both RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita and AS Monaco’s Fabinho – both of whom will join the Reds on July 1st.

And it now appears Klopp could be ready to land yet another midfielder star in the form of Besiktas’ Anderson Talisca as he continues his squad re-vamp.

Talisca, 24, has spent the past two season on-loan with the Turkish giants from Benfica, however the Brazilian is now expected to return to Portugal after Besiktas turned down the chance to sign the midfielder permanently – despite him scoring 37 goals in just 78 appearances.

Benfica however remain keen to sell Talisca, and Portuguese paper Record claim it is Liverpool who are in pole position to take him away from the Stadium of Light.

They claim that means Liverpool have “an open track to negotiate directly with Benfica.”, and that the Reds could land the highly-rated midfielder for a fee of around £18.5 million.

Talisca only last month stated his desire to play in the Premier League, saying:

“I prefer the the English league, I prefer it for the fans.

“In every game, a nice image is formed. Every match is the same support, I like this situation.”

Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Lyon star Nabil Fekir.

The France international is set to leave Ligue 1 this summer, and Liverpool are favourites to secure his signature, with the Reds ready to pay as much as £60 million to land him.
