Liverpool Set To Rival Chelsea As They Line Up 60M Rated Swedish Talent As Firmino’s Replacement

Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, according to reports in the Spanish media.

It is believed that both the Reds and Chelsea are scouting the 21-year-old, who impressed during Sweden’s opening group match against Spain at the Euros.

Isak is thought to be a candidate as manager Jurgen Klopp considers a potential successor for Roberto Firmino, whose form has dipped over the past few seasons.

Trying to sign Isak, who has also been linked with Arsenal in the English press recently, won’t be straightforward. The forward has a €70m (£60m) release clause in his contract, while former club Borussia Dortmund are said to have included a €30m (£26m) buyback option, which could complicate matters further.

Liverpool are believed to be looking to sign a striker this summer, with the likes of Donyell Malen and Patson Daka having been mentioned in recent days, and it seems Isak is another contender on the club’s shortlist.
