Liverpool Star Attracting Interest From 3 Premier League Rivals As Contract Talks Stall

Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are all monitoring Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita’s contract situation, according to reports in the English media.

The Guinean international has less than twelve months remaining on his current deal and talks over extending his stay at Anfield have stalled.

Keita joined the Reds from RB Leipzig for £52.75m in the summer of 2018 but his extremely poor injury record has meant that he has only made 117 appearances over the past four and a half years.

He did, however, play 40 games last campaign, with many regarding it as his best season since arriving in England, but his fitness problems have since resurfaced. It’s unlikely a coincidence that contract negotiations began to hit the buffers at the same time.

A parting of ways is now likely, although Liverpool would likely prefer Keita to choose a move abroad. It is believed that teams in Germany, Spain, France and Italy are also keen on recruiting the 27-year-old so we shall see who wins the race for the player’s signature.
