Liverpool Target ‘Knows’ Clubs Are Interested In Him But No One Is Willing To Meet His £67m Release Clause

Sevilla defender Diego Carlos “knows” there are a number of clubs interested in signing him, according to AS. The Spanish publication names Liverpool, Manchester City and Bayern Munich as the teams keen on snapping up the centre-back but, as things stand, the three clubs are unwilling to match the player’s asking price.

The 27-year-old has a €75m (£67m) release clause which Sevilla have told interested clubs to trigger, but things may change as the summer goes on.

AS claim that the Spanish side will listen to any offer which is made for Carlos, as they plan to use the money to finance their own transfer plans.

Liverpool are likely to be in the market for a new centre-half, following the departure of Dejan Lovren, but a move to sign Carlos as his replacement is unlikely at this time unless his price tag is significantly reduced before the transfer window closes.
