Liverpool to offer Mohamed Salah huge wage packet to keep him at Anfield next season

Liverpool are set to offer Mohamed Salah a bumper new contract in order to keep him at Anfield next season, according to reports from The Sun.

Salah has been Liverpool’s, and the Premier League’s, most outstanding player this season, scoring 31 goals in the top flight and 43 in all competitions to help propel the Reds to top four finish and potential Champions League final.

Signed only last year from AS Roma for £34 million, Salah’s current contract sees him earn around £90,000 a week, meaning he is behind a number of the club’s top earners.

And the Reds are now ready to double that wage packet to ensure the Egyptian star remains on Merseyside next season.

The Sun report Salah will be offered a new contract worth as much as £185,000-per-week, with Liverpool hoping the deal will end talks concerning the 25-year-old’s future.

Salah’s performances have attracted attention from a host of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid, who are keen to bring the Egypt international to the Bernabeu in place of Gareth Bale, who is seemingly set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Bale has been linked with a summer move to either Manchester United or Bayern Munich after five seasons with Los Blancos.
