Liverpool Told To Face 150M Transfer Reality Following Chelsea’s Deadline Day Activity

Chelsea’s decision to break the British transfer record for Enzo Fernandez could have a knock-on effect when it comes to Liverpool’s pursuit of Jude Bellingham, according to talkSPORT‘s Simon Jordan.

The former Crystal Palace owner says that Borussia Dortmund will see Chelsea’s decision to pay £107m for Fernandez as a barometer for Bellingham’s asking price:

“I hate this sort of conversation but if you’re going to talk about this kid going from Benfica for £105 million [sic] then you’re looking at Bellingham and you’re starting to move into the territory of £125-150 million. They won’t be asking for it on the drip either. They’ll be saying we have a load of suitors, so you pay it and pay it now.”

There’s no hiding from the reality that Bellingham is likely to cost more than Fernandez, and the big question is whether the Reds are willing to push the boat out to get their man.

Despite their position in the Premier League, trusted journalists such as Fabrizio Romano still believe Jurgen Klopp’s side are one of the frontrunners for the teenager’s signature, ahead of teams such as Manchester United and Manchester City.

It seems all of the groundwork has been put in place for a move to happen. Bellingham is also seemingly keen and Dortmund are likely prepared to sell him, but can Liverpool come up with the money needed? We will find out in the summer.
