Liverpool Told They Need A “Miracle” As Pundit Delivers Damning Top Four Verdict

Liverpool may need a “miracle” to even finish in fifth place this season, according to talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara.

The former Tottenham midfielder says Jurgen Klopp’s side have no chance of qualifying for the Champions League with the team going through a very difficult period:

“I think top four is off this season – they’re miles of it. You know, we keep expecting ‘Liverpool will turn up’, they’ve still got top players in the side… I think it’ll be a tough season for them. I don’t think they’ll win a trophy this season and it’ll be a miracle for them even if they get fifth.”

With the Reds currently seven points off Spurs in fifth, you do see where O’Hara is coming from. Klopp’s men do have two games in hand over their rivals but you wouldn’t back them to win those fixtures based on their current form.

By the same measure, they are so far behind the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle and Manchester United in the top four, it seems very unlikely that they’ll be able to catch up in the coming weeks and months.

After drawing against Chelsea last time out in the league, who are experiencing an equally poor season, you don’t hold out much hope that Liverpool will rally and get back into contention.
