Liverpool Tracking £36m Rated Nigerian Flyer As Player Speaks Out On Future

Liverpool are keeping tabs on Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze, according to Goal.com. The Nigerian has reportedly been on the club’s radar over the past twelve months.

The 20-year-old is believed to have a €40m (£36m) release clause and has been tipped to make a move away from the Yellow Submarine to join a bigger club. However, when asked about his future, Chukwueze was keen to point out that he is not in a hurry to leave his current team:

“I know I am going in the right direction. I am happy just to be playing football and to see where that takes me. I always try to see the bigger picture and to stay patient. I am not one who wants everything immediately.”

“I am happy to take smaller steps on the way to the bigger goals. I just love to play. I love training. From the moment I wake up, I want to be kicking a ball. It is a joy for me.”

The midfielder revealed back in May that he is aware of “several” teams that are interested in signing him, but he will only move if he is guaranteed first team football.

Chukwueze generally plays on the right flank, cutting in onto his stronger left foot, which would make him an ideal understudy for Mo Salah but it remains to be seen if Liverpool will step up their interest in the player.
