Liverpool are believed to be interested in a move for USA midfielder Yunus Musah, according to a recent report from Spanish sports media outlet Fichajes.

Despite this, Fichajes’ report claims that no club has made an official offer for the player as of yet. Nevertheless, they also mention that Musah’s fate will be decided ‘over the coming weeks’.

Liverpool’s interest at this stage seems apparent – but they are not the only club who are thought to have their eye on the 20-year-old.

Who else, besides Liverpool, are interested in a move for Yunus Musah?

Aside from the Reds, West Ham United have been heavily linked with a transfer move for Yunus Musah in recent weeks. So far, their chances of landing him in the summer appear unclear.

Inter Milan were linked with a move for the player in the January transfer window – since then, however, the Italian giants’ interest has appeared to have gone cold.

In addition to this, Musah is a former Arsenal academy prospect – he has been tentatively linked with a return to the Gunners in the summer transfer window over the last few months.

What would Yunus Musah add to the squad?

Liverpool’s struggles in midfield over the course of the 2022/23 Premier League season have been well-documented. They have consistently lacked strength in depth, as well as energetic runners – something that is crucial to the way that Jurgen Klopp likes his team to play.

On too many occasions, Liverpool have relied on their academy prospects – like Stefan Bajcetic, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot – to get them out of jail in the middle of the park.

The likes of Jordan Henderson and James Milner were beginning to show their age – furthermore, others such as Naby Keita and Fabinho were far from their best last season.

As such, Musah would provide an excellent solution to this problem. Not only is he young at just 20 years of age, he also possesses a limitless engine that allows him to run at full speed over the course of a 90 minute game.

He isn’t just a runner, either. Musah has brilliant technical ability, a wide range of passing and he is also no slouch in the defensive department.
