Liverpool To Hold Talks With France International As Arne Slot Seeks First Signing

Liverpool are set to hold talks with France international Adrien Rabiot this week as Arne Slot looks to strengthen in midfield.

Rabiot is a free agent after not signing a new deal at Juventus this summer. Several Premier League teams are interested in the 29-year-old who is the most valuable free agent still available.

Rabiot is estimated to be worth £30 million and made over 200 appearances for Juventus in five years in Turin. He has previously played for PSG and Toulouse in the French Ligue 1.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League for several years, but seeing as he is now a free agent, it is likely that this is the best chance for him to move to England.

Liverpool is keen on the 29-year-old who would provide a stable central midfielder who would act as a replacement for Jordan Henderson who left Anfield last season.

Liverpool rivals in race for Rabiot

Arsenal are targeting the French international this summer and are currently leading the race for Rabiot alongside Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

However, Manchester United is also keen on the midfielder who is open to a move to Old Trafford according to Fabrizio Romano.

Earlier in the summer, Rabiot admitted that he wanted to play in the Premier League, but the question is which team will swoop in and sign the midfielder.

Adrien Rabiot’s hefty wage demands

According to CaughtOffside, Rabiot demands a salary of between £8.6m and £12.9m over a three-year deal. A figure that has reportedly put Spanish giants Real Madrid off signing him.

The race for Rabiot will likely be won by whichever team accepts his wage demands. Seeing as Liverpool haven’t made a signing yet in the transfer window, Arne Slot may decide to bite the bullet and sign the 29-year-old.
