£115M-Rated Liverpool And Arsenal Linked Striker Reveals He Would Rather Join The Reds

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak would rather join Liverpool than Arsenal despite the Gunners having a long-term interest in him.

New reports have linked Liverpool to Isak as they look for a long-term replacement for Darwin Nunez, who has scored just four goals for Arne Slot’s side this season.

The Sweden international has been heavily linked with Liverpool’s title rivals Arsenal, but now it seems as though Anfield could be a more realistic destination for the 25-year-old.

Isak has scored 17 goals in 22 Premier League games for the Magpies this season, making him the second-top scorer in the league behind Mo Salah.

According to a report by TeamTalk, the Newcastle striker is keen on a move to Anfield, which could be a major blow to Arsenal. The report says that Liverpool have shortlisted Isak amid uncertainties surrounding Nunez.

It also says that Isak would be keen to move to Anfield due to the fact that he wants to play Champions League football and compete for trophies.

According to the report, Isak is “very interested” in a move to Liverpool. Arsenal are likely to move for the striker in the summer window, but in recent weeks they have been linked with one of Liverpool’s Diogo Jota which is ironic considering this fresh Isak development.

Arsenal keen to sign Diogo Jota

Arsenal are plotting a summer transfer move for the Portuguese attacker, as they look to replace Gabriel Jesus, who has been out with an ACL injury for much of this season.

Jota has been at Anfield since 2020, when the Reds paid £37m for him from fellow Premier League side Wolves. He has since scored 64 goals.

However, this season, Jota has been dealing with injury issues, and so Liverpool could be more prepared to offload him in the summer – especially if they can land Isak.
