Fabrizio Romano Confirms Liverpool Agreement Made In Pursuit Of Alisson Successor

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvilli.

The Reds are looking to sign the Georgia international as a long-term replacement for Alisson who is likely to leave over the next two years.

Romano confirmed that Liverpool would sign Mamardashvilli and then loan him out for at least a season before making him the first choice keeper at Anfield.

He said: “He’s [Mamardashvilli] keen on the move even spending one or two years elsewhere on loan.” Romano also confirmed that the two clubs are now in talks over a deal for the keeper.

Romano also said that Premier League rivals Bournemouth would be open to signing the Georgian on a loan deal whilst Alisson remains as the first choice for Liverpool.

It would likely be for one or two years before either Alisson leaves for another club or as a free agent – his contract at Anfield has two years remaining.

Bournemouth would be a good destination for Mamardashvilli as it would help him aclimatise to life in the Premier league.

Arne Slot told asking price by Valencia

Arne Slot is yet to make his first signing as Liverpool manager which could change soon if he agrees a fee with Valencia for their keeper.

According to Spanish news outlet AS, the La Liga club is demanding a fee of £34m for Mamardashvilli who made a name for himself with some stunning performances for Georgia at Euro 2024.

The 23-year-old has been at Valencia since 2021 after joining from Georgian side Dynamo Tiblisi. He has made 100 appearances for the Spanish side keeping 31 clean sheets.
