Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, according to Sky Sports.
The wingers are clearly being considered as potential replacements for Mo Salah if the Egyptian does leave Anfield when his contract expires this summer.
However, supporters on X are split on whether the likes of Mbeumo and Semenyo are good enough to fill Salah’s shoes:
Probably the 2 best realistic RW options along with Kudus.

Mbeumo or semenyo would only be a replacement for Elliott or chiesa the wouldn’t get in the first 11

Mbeumo would be such a good replacement for Salah long term

Getting a top tier player should be key. These guys are squad players unless we want it that way

I would sign these 2 and sell injury prone Jota and Nunez

We should be looking to sign Musiala or Wirtz instead.

Mbeumo and Semenyo have been in great form this season
It is not a surprise that Liverpool have taken an interest in both players. Mbeumo has scored 11 times in 19 league appearances, while Semenyo has found the back of the net on 5 occasions.
The pair are also very capable of cutting in from the right flank and shooting with their left foot, which Salah has made his trademark.
Will Salah stay at Liverpool?
When asked about the likelihood of a contract extension after the 5-0 win over West Ham at the weekend, the 32-year-old said an agreement was still “far away”.
Even so, there is still optimism that both Salah and captain Virgil van Dijk will eventually sign on the dotted line. The pair have heavily hinted that they would like to stay on Merseyside.
Things are less clear-cut with Trent Alexander-Arnold. Real Madrid are stepping up their efforts to snap up the defender on a free transfer. As of January 1st, they are allowed to talk with the player directly.
